GRADING SYSTEM
PRACTICAL WING CHUN
Our goals with the new grading system and the curriculum change are to set a new standard for all our students, old or new, to ensure they are receiving the best training possible that our instructors can provide. The new standard we are aiming for is for everyone to be as good as our instructors, even if the students don’t plan on becoming an instructor. This means spending more time fine tuning our techniques, more time on training in traditional methods, and really making sure that when we pass our students on grading that we are fully confident that they have achieved a level of mastery suitable to their levels.
Each empty hand form will now only have 3 ‘levels’, with each section of the form tied to the levels. While each level will be ‘bigger’ in terms of the number of techniques or drills required for the students to do, the general idea and learning structure remains the same.
All students must meet the minimum requirement for each section before they can apply for grading.
