What is Practical
Wing Chun?
Kung fu with modern day approach
Wing Chun is a traditional Chinese self defence system that is believed to have been developed over 300 years ago. Unlike martial arts that rely primarily on size, strength, or athletic ability, Wing Chun focuses on efficiency, technique, and intelligent movement.
The system is built around key principles such as economy of movement, centreline control, angles, timing, balance, and coordination. Students learn how to use proper structure, positioning, and strategy to defend effectively while maintaining control and composure.
Practical Wing Chun follows the lineage of Grandmaster Wan Kam Leung, who refined and developed the Wing Chun system to make it more applicable for real-life self-defence situations. This practical approach combines traditional Wing Chun principles with modern understanding, allowing students to develop skills that are effective, realistic, and relevant for today’s world.
